My parents were going to Jakes Grill & Oyster House for their 40 anniversary dinner. I called and spoke to the owner about secretly paying for their meal. Jamie was so accommodating and helpful. They had a fantastic meal, my mom was still talking about it days later. The staff was great, my folks had no idea then when the waitress gave them their surprise dessert and wished them a happy anniversary, they were trying to figure out how she knew. When the manager came and told them that dinner was paid for they were thrilled. I bet they wish they had of ordered a bit more to take with them . They had such a wonderful dinining experience and cant wait to go back. Thank you Jamie and the rest of the staff at Jakes Oyster House and Grill for making my parents anniversary dinner a memorable one.
Chose Jakes for our anniversary. The nautical theme looked a bit dated initially, but from the time we sat to the time we left those doubts were erased. Stephanie our server was amazing.Food was fast and fresh, oyster selection was better than anywhere Ive been in Canada. Definitely recommend this place, and definitely plan on a return visit.
Love Jake's! The food is consistently great and the atmosphere is unique! The pickerel is amongst my favourite dishes. The only thing I don't like is that they tell you upon arrival if there is another reservation at your table after you. It's a rude way to enter a restaurant; being informed that you need to leave by a certain time. I understand there's a bottom line to take care of but that shouldn't fall on the shoulders of the customer. Regardless, I'll be back many times in the future!
Very enjoyable lunch experience at Jake's! The atmosphere was much more casual than we had expected but the service level and food quality met exceeded our expectations! We started with the Seafood Chowder which was delicious. My wife ordered the Lobster/shrimp roll and I ordered the caesar salad. Both meals were very good. Service was excellent. It was not very busy when we arrived. Many additional staff were arriving which led me to believe that reservations would be advisable for dinner hour. We will definitely return!
Was there tonight. Food was great. Pricing is high but I expected that because I checked the website. The managers seemed attentive. Atmosphere is nice. The waitress seemed not very interested in answering my questions about the food or in my table with me and my three boys. The only time I got a smile was when I left a tip. Kinda regretting the tip portion because I do believe its earned. I still kept the rating a 4 because everyone has bad days. My recommendation is do your best to not make your bad day your clients problem because you have the power to affect their day as well.Good luck I will try again in a few weeks when we are back in town.
