WONDERFUL customer service!! After a few horrible customer service experiences at another location, I planned on never purchasing from Michael Hill again. After visiting Mapleview and speaking with Matt, I definitely plan on purchasing mine and my fiances wedding band here and probably other jewelry as well! Very happy! Thanks Matt!
BUYER BEWARE. Two horrible customer service experiences at this location in a row.I had a necklace that I wanted to exchange there. When I inquired how much the necklace was worth (so I could see what else I could get for the same value), the sales associate, I believe her name was Mathu, would not tell me the price of the necklace. She told me it depended on the person. When I asked why there would be different prices for different people, she said it depended on if they asked for a discount or if there were a sale that day. I asked her to just tell me what the price was if I were to buy it today. She finally pulled the necklace out and gave me the price. Beyond frustrating.I decided to just return the necklace another day when I had the receipt with me.When I went in to return it, I was asked where it was purchased. I told them it was from another store. I waited at the counter for 20 minutes until a manager was available. Cody, a manager in training, wouldnt even come out from the back and had another sales associate tell me that they couldnt return it there because they had a new system and it wouldnt work. They said I had to go back to the store it was purchased from to return it because it wasnt in their system. Frustrated, I left and drove across town to another location to return it. In the meantime I managed to contact someone at head office who informed me that this wasnt the case and I should have been able to return it at any location in Canada. To the credit of the staff at Limeridge, they processed the transaction with no issue and the staff there were lovely.I called Cody back at Mapleview to explain why he wouldnt process my return. He maintained the excuse of the system not working. Which may have been a legitimate reason if they had even attempted to help process my return instead of just sending me away so they wouldnt have a return on their sales that day. Ridiculous. You can get better quality at a lower price point at several other jewellers. Particularly independent ones. My frustration is extended from the terrible customer service we received after purchasing my engagement and wedding band there. Highly regrettable. I would never purchase another item from Michael Hill and would never, ever recommend buying anything from this company. Horrible customer service once they have your money.
If I could give this location 0 stars I would. I was lied to by both Madhu one of the saleswomen and the manager Matt. I was given the lifetime warranty I requested on all the rings purchased. To keep price down and make a sale Madhu lied and only put a 3 year warranty on my husbands ring because it was cheaper. I ended up finding out and then I was told it would be 56 dollars to add the lifetime warranty and that this would be covered for all of the rings. I ended going to Michael hill at another store for an issue with one of the rings and found out that my engagement ring and wedding band did not have any warranty at all. I called and spoke to Matt and he clearly lied to me and could only recall anything that benefited him. I ended up having to pay another 305 dollars out of pocket to add the lifetime warranty. Madhu was pushy about getting the sale to the point of repeatedly texting me on my cellphone. I will be putting in a formal complaint. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE. BUYER BEWARE.
