My wife & I came here on a whim as we were looking for a good place to eat before going to the movie theater up the road. Yes the place is small inside compared to some other nearby establishments but it has nice decor. We opted to sit outside on the patio as it was a nice sunny day. The food is a little pricey however we took advantage of the specials of the day, 1/2 price appetizers and $20 burger/side/beer deal. I'm usually not crazy about ordering burgers from fancy restaurants but this was an exceptional burger (wild boar) which looked like 8oz AFTER the meat was cooked. Better than anything I've had from The Works or other non fast food burger restaurants. Appetizers were great too. Fish tacos, chicken spring rolls and won ton nachos. Fusion dishes are more often misses than hits but the won tons tasted like normal chips just a bit lighter and were covered in ample cheese and pulled chicken, which surprisingly the meat was NOT dry considering it was a nacho topping. Quantity of food was good as well. After 3 appetizers and 1 shared main, 2 hungry adults still had a bit left over. The server was excellent. We sat about 15 minutes before happy hour ended. I was undecided on a drink and she came back with about 5 minutes left so I could order my drink during the special. On top of that, after we paid and left she chased us down the road as my wife had forgotten her hat. All around an excellent experience and we plan to come back to sample more of the menu.
The service was extremely disappointing. We were barely greeted. Once seated we weren't not told about specials or anything. The food was average at best. Server never cave back to check on us. Overall, extremely disappointed for such a highly rated and overpriced place! Please don't overlook this review!
We recently held our wedding reception here after planning the evening with the owner. Aside from the food, the restaurant was unprepared. We paid an additional fee for an extra amount of guests. They had ONE server for 75 people and ONE bartender. They ran out of certain bar supplies. If it weren't for the lovely kitchen staff and the food, I'd have been very disappointed.
SB Prime has become one of my favourite restaurants. They have the best steaks in Burlington, amazing wine list, and great specials. Last night our server was Rachel. She was very friendly and very attentive! Last time I was there in June I guess I left my makeup compact there (just figured I lost it) the owner approached me with it last night. She held on to it for me. Thats great customer service!
Get the muscles and the steak - food is fantastic. Great atmosphere with live music at nights in a small, intimate setting.
